Bambakofi Academy
Where does the name come from?
…from the beautiful bambakofi tree, which characterises the place. The first kit was inspired by the seed's colours: white, orange, and black.
Operating and organizational principles
Through the "Bambakofi Academy," ATKYE promotes quality teaching in a stimulating environment for students, offering them personal growth experiences. At the same time, it promotes teacher training, providing them with the latest teaching methods and tools.
Sports, cultural, and recreational activities are part of the Bambakofi Academy's educational program and are designed to stimulate young people's curiosity and ensure they grow in step with the times.
The two sections of the school
The free “orange section”
This is the fundamental structure for which the project was established, serving students from poor families. The orange section, many of whose students are boarders, includes six primary school classes and three lower secondary school classes.
Each year, the school's management selects 25 deserving students for the first year of primary school. The primary selection criterion is their background in poverty, with girls receiving three-quarters of the total . The selected students will attend the entire school year free of charge, provided their poverty level remains unchanged.
The paid section "green section"
In exchange for very low fees, the section includes nursery school, 6 primary school classes and, by 2028, will also include 3 lower secondary school classes.
The green section was born thanks to parents who joined together, accumulated the capital necessary for self-financing, and built the classrooms with their own funds.
The green section is autonomously organized and therefore pays teachers with the fees it collects, also giving ATKYE the money needed to cover the school's common services it uses (canteen, materials, outdoor spaces, school support, etc.).
